Just a short drive across the Nags Head Causeway, Old Town Manteo lies on the shores of Roanoke Island. The “Old Town” section of Manteo has lots to see and do including shops, art gallery, restaurants, pubs and even a lighthouse! Dave and I had a great time exploring the town and even walked across the bridge to the Roanoke Festival Park, home port of the Elizabeth II, a historic reproduction 16th century sailing vessel.
For lunch, we stopped into Poor Richard's Sandwich Shop and sat at a waterside table. Dave had the pastrami & knockwurst sandwich (which he loved…don’t ask me) and I had some tasty “chicken pot pie” soup along with a garden salad. After eating, we walked it off by wandering out to the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse. Don’t miss the opportunity to visits Old Town Manteo when you come to the Outer Banks.

Think beach!
